ANSWERS
Overview...
Is there any cost to the customer?
No. Hogan tire pays all fees associated with the use and maintenance
of eTire Link.
Who can use eTire Link?
Any tire re-seller within the Hogan Tire delivery area. An approved
credit account is required although invoices can be issued for cash or check
upon customer request.
Can I use it on any computer?
Yes. eTire Link is not assigned to a computer, but to a user.
You will need a PC with internet access and a browser. DSL, broadband or
other high speed internet access is recommended. If more than one person
shares the same computer, eTire access can be shared as well.
Can more than one person at my company have access
at the same time?
Yes. However each user
on a separate computer will need his
or her own user name and password. We will assign a customer as many
user names and passwords as required.
How long does it take to place an order?
Less than 30 seconds from start to finish once you know the tire size.
Customers will notice a huge savings in time over the traditional phone call.
Is there a tire guide or vehicle size lookup
option?
Yes. Click on the TG button at the top of the inventory inquiry
screen to search for the original equipment tire size.
Can a car dealer order both tires available through a car manufacturer's
program as well as less expensive tires that may not be available under the
car manufacturers program?
Yes. We can set up eTire to handle both types of transactions.
Inventory and Searches...
Is every tire in stock shown on eTire Link?
No. While most tires are listed some are not, such as snow tires
when they are not "in season" or discontinued models.
What if I don't see the tire I need or the qty
available is zero in all locations? Does that mean the tire is not
available?
Not necessarily. While it may be out of stock, Hogan Tire takes
delivery of tires every weekday which may not yet appear as available on eTire
Link. In addition, if a tire is not in stock, we have many programs set
up with both manufacturers and distributors to get you the tire you need at
the same price you would pay had it been in stock. In a case where you
can not find the tire you're looking for we would ask you to give us a call on
our
priority wholesale phone line.
How do I know if a tire may be in stock in a different location?
By clicking on the quantity available on the left hand side of the screen other
location detail is shown.
Can I place an order for a tire
that is not in stock, but is either on order or available in another location?
Yes. Tires available in another location will be transferred to, and
delivered by the store you placed your order with on the same day if the order
is received by 10am. Orders received after 10am are guaranteed for next
day delivery. Although it cannot be guaranteed, tires ordered after 10am
are often delivered the same day depending on the route of our store to store
vans. Any special delivery needs should be added to the order as a
comment. If these needs cannot be met you will be
contacted by phone.
Can I limit search results to only tires that have an available quantity?
Yes. By clicking on the "Avail" column heading in inventory inquiry
the tires will be sorted by quantity available. Click again and the
order is reversed. The cost and price columns can be sorted too.
Click on the heading once to sort from lowest to highest and again to sort
from highest to lowest.
How do
I sort search results by dollar amount?
The cost and price columns can be sorted by clicking on the column
heading. Click on the heading once to sort from lowest to highest and
again to sort from highest to lowest.
What do the Mfg, Group, Category, and Sort codes do?
Sort codes allow the customer to refine the search to a specific
tire manufacturer, tire model (group), category (snow/light truck/etc.), or to
limit results by speed rating, load rating and more. The best way to
learn about refining a search is to spend a few minutes searching for
different tires. One thing to note is that some manufacturers, such as
Michelin, have more the one Mfg code due to the number of items in stock.
What is the MU and GP number for?
MU-mark up and GP-gross profit allow the customer to set a percentage to
calculate a selling price.
Can I hide my cost if I want to show a customer what is available?
Yes. Clicking on the small box at the top right of the inventory
search page will hide your cost and your margin. The customers selling
price will continue to show on the screen.
Will a customer know where a tire is coming from if I show him/her the
search screen?
No. The Hogan Tire logo will only show on the actual order page.
If you want to show a customer the inventory search page with pricing and qty.
available there are no identifying names except for eTireLink, which is the
software you are using.
Is there additional tire information
available to show a customer such as a description or picture?
Yes. The majority of tires have links to additional information photos
and specifications. Click on the tire description hyperlink to see details on a tire. There are no identifying names
on tire detail pages so that this information can be shared with your
customers.
Placing orders and Delivery...
When can I expect the tires to be delivered?
Tires in stock will be delivered right away, normally within 1 or 2 hours. Tires in stock at
another location will be delivered the same day if the order is received by
10am. Tires from other locations are guaranteed for the next day if
received after 10am. Although it cannot be guaranteed, tires ordered
after 10am are often delivered the same day depending on the route of our
store to store vans. Any special delivery needs should be added to the
order as a comment. If these needs cannot be met you will be contacted
by phone.
How do I put a comment on an order?
By tabbing over to, or clicking in, the description space on the order
entry (OE) page you can type a comment. For additional space go to the
next line.
What is the cancel date on the order entry screen?
This field is used when back ordering tires to place an expiration date on
the order. Hogan Tire does not use this field.
Is the ship to information required?
No. The shipping information is pre-set based on your account
information. This field would allow a customer to ship to a different
location than normal if desired. For shipping comments it is recommended
that they be entered in the body of the order as described above rather than
under "special shipping instructions" in the ship to box. Order comments
will print on the order, while special shipping instructions only appear
on the screen.

When I log on I'm told that a session exists for
this user. Why does this happen and what should I do?
The window on the last session was closed without selecting the
log out button. This protects your
work should the browser window be closed or a computer error occur in the
middle of an order. To log in, click OK.
